Summary
REMblerSZ strengthens the role of culture and sustainable tourism in the Romania–Hungary border area by actively involving young people and local communities in cross-border cultural cooperation. The project modernises cultural attractions and applies artistic methods to keep cultural heritage relevant and engaging, while contributing to the development of a new integrated tourism destination linking Remetea and Szentpéterszeg.
Through thematic cultural events, community involvement, and the creation of the Szentpéterszeg–Remetea hiking trail, the project enhances visitor experiences, encourages longer tourist stays, and supports inclusive economic development.

Key Activities & Results
🔹 Cultural Events – Organisation of 5 themed cultural events engaging 750 participants, showcasing music, gastronomy, art, nature, and history.
🔹 Hiking Trail Development – Creation of the Szentpéterszeg–Remetea hiking trail as a new cross-border thematic route.
🔹 Community Workshops – Organisation of 2 workshops involving local stakeholders in shaping the hiking trail and tourism vision.
🔹 Digital Tools – Development of a joint website providing visitor information, QR-based tickets, local check-ins, and project updates.
🔹 Strategic Planning – Preparation and dissemination of the Szentpéterszeg–Remetea Sustainable Tourism and Culture Preservation Strategy and the related Action Plan.
🔹 Site Enhancements – Implementation and cultural site improvements in both Remetea and Szentpéterszeg.
By combining culture, artistic expression, and community participation, REMblerSZ creates a sustainable and inclusive cross-border tourism destination that benefits local communities and young people on both sides of the border.
