Summary
IPOP addresses demographic and health challenges affecting families in the Hungarian–Romanian border region, focusing on women’s reproductive health, prevention, and access to medical services.
The project helps families make informed decisions about family planning and healthy lifestyles, while also improving the capacity of the local healthcare system to provide accessible, quality services.
By combining medical education, preventive screenings, and modernised equipment, IPOP brings healthcare closer to rural communities and strengthens cooperation between professionals on both sides of the border.
Key actions include the establishment of a Health Development Office (HDO) in Satu Mare, a mobile medical service reaching remote areas, and new diagnostic and surgical equipment for the Hódmezővásárhely–Makó Health Care Center. Together, these initiatives help increase health, improve family well-being, and create a more resilient healthcare network.
