Summary
CB Energy strengthens cooperation between Lugașu de Jos (Romania) and Komádi (Hungary) to promote the use of solar energy and raise awareness about the benefits of renewable sources.
The project supports the transition to clean and sustainable energy by installing solar panels and energy-efficient systems in public buildings on both sides of the border. These investments reduce energy costs, lower emissions, and serve as practical examples for other communities.
Beyond infrastructure, CB Energy focuses on education and awareness. It organises training courses, stakeholder meetings, and workshops to increase understanding of solar technologies and strengthen local capacity to manage renewable energy systems.
Through these actions, the project aims to increase the willingness of citizens and public institutions to use solar energy, contributing to a greener and more energy-efficient cross-border region.
Project Aim
To promote the use of renewable energy and increase the adoption of solar technologies in the Lugașu de Jos–Komádi cross-border area through infrastructure investments, education, and cooperation.
Key Activities & Results
🔹 Solar Installations in Lugașu de Jos: Installation of a photovoltaic system and a demonstration building showcasing the benefits of renewable energy.
🔹 Solar and Heating Systems in Komádi: Implementation of several energy upgrades, including the installation of solar and heating systems in public institutions, the setup of an electric vehicle charging station, the energy renovation of the kindergarten, and the modernisation of the elderly care home with a geothermal-water heat pump system.
🔹 Workshops and Trainings: Five workshops (three in Lugașu de Jos, two in Komádi) for local residents, plus three hands-on training sessions (two in Komádi, one in Lugașu de Jos), focusing on installation, operation, and maintenance of solar systems.
🔹 Stakeholder Meetings: Three sessions with local authorities, schools, and business representatives to exchange knowledge and plan long-term energy actions.
🔹 Joint Solar Energy Strategy: Development of a shared cross-border strategy that defines common priorities and measures for sustainable energy production and usage.
🔹 Long-Term Cooperation: A Memorandum of Understanding and Post-Project Cooperation Agreement ensure continued collaboration and knowledge exchange beyond the project’s lifetime.
