Summary
CONNECT strengthens the relationship between Ardud (Romania) and Nagyecsed (Hungary) by celebrating their shared medieval heritage and promoting cross-border cooperation through culture, education, and community engagement.
The project highlights how common traditions can bring people together, fostering mutual understanding and lasting partnerships. Activities include festivals, study visits, and educational camps, all focused on learning, participation, and exchange.
By reviving customs and promoting local creativity, CONNECT boosts community pride and supports economic and social ties between the two towns, home to over 12,000 people.
Project Aim
To strengthen cross-border cooperation between Ardud and Nagyecsed by promoting shared cultural heritage, community engagement, and mutual trust.

Key Activities & Results
🔹 Cultural Festivals – Two large festivals attended by 8,000 visitors, celebrating medieval crafts, music, and traditions.
🔹 Educational Camp and Study Visit – 71 participants join a cross-border learning experience, including a study visit to a major European medieval festival.
🔹 Cultural Exchange – Students, artists, and local performers cooperate to share ideas and skills across borders.
🔹 Joint Strategy Plan – A shared roadmap for cooperation in culture, education, economy, tourism, and healthcare, ensuring sustainability beyond the project.
