Summary

The Green Energy Network (GEN) establishes a network of partner organisations that implement photovoltaic systems and energy efficiency measures across borders to reduce carbon footprint and promote renewable energy use among institutions and communities. The project combines infrastructure investments (photovoltaic panels, storage, heat pumps, electric cars and chargers) with “soft” activities such as training, conferences, job fairs and awareness events—to foster long-term behavioural change and cross-border cooperation.

Project Aim

To increase the use of solar energy in institutional settings and to promote sustainable energy behaviours across the cross-border area through combined infrastructure and educational actions.

Objectives

✅ Install photovoltaic and storage systems in partner institutions
✅ Raise public and institutional awareness of renewable energy and energy efficiency
✅ Build local capacity through conferences, workshops and training
✅ Support labour market development in the green energy sector
✅ Ensure long-term cross-border cooperation and knowledge exchange

Key Activities & Results

🔹 Renewable Installations & Equipment: Photovoltaic systems and storage, heat pumps, and related energy upgrades for partner institutions.
🔹 Electric Mobility: Two electric cars (for AJOFM and BVKH) and two charging stations to promote clean transport.
🔹 Strategic Documents: Development of a Labour Market Strategy for the renewable energy sector and a Joint Action & Intervention Plan for stakeholders.
🔹 Events & Capacity Building: Joint conferences, professional events, job fairs (focused on green energy), workshops and 800 participants across cross-border activities.
🔹 Green Energy InfoPoint: Creation of a Green Energy InfoPoint in Békés County, to encourage sustainable attitudes and community engagement.

By combining investment in renewable energy infrastructure with education, cooperation, and long-term strategic planning, GEN: GREEN ENERGY NETWORK helps Romanian and Hungarian communities move toward a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable future.

Partnership

Lead Partner: Don Orione Beneficence Charity Society (SBDO)
Project Partners: Bihor County Employment Agency (AJOFM), Békés County Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BVKIK), Government Office of Békés County (BVKH)
