Summary
HUNAV-ROHU project aims to contribute to the development of the cross-border area by defining a common strategy that includes new tourist routes/products and the creative use of historical and cultural heritage.
The project focuses on the restoration of the Huniade Castle in Timișoara and the Navay Manor in Ofoldeak, transforming them into prominent landmarks on both sides of the border.
Project Aim
The project establishes a robust cross-border cultural and touristic ecosystem, where preservation, innovation, and cooperation enhance the cultural heritage and tourism potential of the region.

✅ Promote good relations and multiculturalism in the cross-border area

Key Activities & Results
🔹 Restoration of Huniade Castle – Restoration of spaces located in the East Wing of the Huniade Castle building on the ground, first, and second floors, including the creation of various exhibitions
🔹 Restoration of Navay Manor – Interior and exterior restoration of the Navay Manor, including landscaping, furnishing, and the creation of event spaces and a memorial room
🔹 Cultural Strategy Development – Developing a cultural strategy to ensure the preservation of cultural, historical, and natural heritage in the cross-border area.
🔹 Joint Actions and Events – Organizing 1 joint action with artistic components, 6 workshops, 6 educational actions, and 3 conferences to promote the restored sites and shared cultural heritage.
By integrating modern infrastructure with cross-border initiatives, HUNAV-ROHU revitalizes cultural and tourist services in the region. By the end of the project, the cross-border area seeks to be more culturally vibrant, collaborative, and inclusive, with 1,600 visitors/year to the 2 cultural and tourist sites supported and 135 participations in joint actions across borders after project completion.
