Summary
Treeathlon helps Biharia (RO) and Derecske (HU) become greener, healthier places to live by improving ecosystem services and reducing traffic-related pollution. The project builds the capacity of local authorities, raises community awareness, especially among young people, and develops a joint action plan based on a shared assessment of environmental and mobility challenges.
Through infrastructure, tree planting, community involvement, and innovative actions such as Trees4NextGens and Bikes4Rent, the project supports practical solutions that promote nature and active mobility across both settlements.
