Summary
ISU-EMERG aims to enhance healthcare infrastructure and services in the cross-border region by developing state-of-the-art surgical and emergency facilities. The cooperation between Arad County Emergency Clinical Hospital and Békés Central County Hospital strengthens through the creation of a regional healthcare network, allowing the sharing of resources, unified protocols, and improved patient care. This project aims to serve as a model of good practice for other medical facilities in the border area.

Key Activities & Results
🔹 Modernized Surgical Departments – 8 departments of surgery (Neurosurgery and Vascular Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Emergency Interventions, 2 sections of General Surgery I, 2 sections of Orthopedics and Pediatric Surgery) will be modernized within Arad County Clinical Emergency Hospital.
🔹 Expanded Surgical Unit – The space for the Surgery Unit I of the Arad County Emergency Clinical Hospital will be extended by constructing walkways and a new building section to comply with regulations regarding specific circuits.
🔹 Digitalization and Ventilation Systems – Installation of an in-hospital computerization and digitalization system, along with a ventilation system, to improve the quality of medical services by eliminating infections and contamination.
🔹 Integrated Network of Clinical Leadership – Creation of a management network and clinical practice network to facilitate cooperation between medical staff from Arad and Békés counties.
🔹 Equipment Purchase – Békés County Council will purchase office equipment and an electric machine for project implementation, while Békés Central County Hospital will acquire 12 sterilization devices to enhance the safety of surgical activities.
By integrating modern infrastructure with cross-border initiatives, ISU-EMERG revitalizes healthcare services in the region. By the end of the project, healthcare in the cross-border region will be more advanced, collaborative, and resilient.
