Summary
ROHUNOVATION 2 enhances equitable access to surgical care and strengthens healthcare system resilience in the ROHU border region. By investing in advanced surgical equipment, developing eHealth tools, and delivering joint training programmes, the project supports the transition to minimally invasive, patient-centred care. Building on previous cross-border cooperation, it introduces digital innovations benefiting over 5,500 patients annually.

To improve access to high-quality surgical care and foster cross-border cooperation through digital innovation, medical training, and modern infrastructure.

Objectives
✅ Expand access to minimally invasive surgical procedures
✅ Promote digital healthcare through eHealth applications
✅ Train medical professionals in advanced surgical techniques
✅ Strengthen cross-border cooperation in healthcare
✅ Improve patient outcomes and system efficiency

Key Activities & Results

🔹Surgical Capacity Expansion – Over 5,500 patients to benefit annually from new equipment and IT tools

🔹 Joint Training Programs – 10 hands-on sessions for 160 professionals and 2 curricula on robotic surgery and laparoscopic treatment of colorectal tumours and IBD.
🔹 eHealth Tools – Development of ROHU MedLink and IBD QoL apps, targeting 1,000 mobile and 60 online users
🔹 Collaborative Medical Teams – OncoTeam and ROHU Medical Expert Teams for real-time case discussions and surgical cooperation
🔹 Advanced Surgical Equipment – Upgrades at Surgery Clinic II (Timișoara) and Surgery Clinic (Szeged)
🔹 Joint Action Plan – Enhancing the pre-existing Patient Management System (from project ROHU400) with live OR transmission for surgical collaboration

ROHUNOVATION 2 transforms surgical care in the ROHU region through innovation, cooperation, and digitalisation, ensuring better outcomes for patients and stronger healthcare systems.
