Milestone Achievement: First 38 Projects Selected for Financing under Interreg VI-A Romania-Hungary Programme

We are thrilled to announce a major Interreg VI-A Romania-Hungary Programme milestone!

The Monitoring Committee gathered online on July 22, 2024, on the occasion of its second meeting chaired by Mr Traian Gabriel GHILEA, Deputy State Secretary & ROHU Programme coordinator decided to select for financing the first 38 people-to-people projects, submitted under Interreg Specific Objective 6.3.

The approved projects, receiving over 6 million EUR in ERDF funding, aim to foster stronger connections between communities, enhance institutional capacities, and promote cultural and educational exchanges across the Romania-Hungary border.

The next step is for the projects to enter the contracting phase, paving the way for their successful implementation and lasting impacts on the communities living in the border area.

The full list of approved projects is now published and can be consulted here.

In addition to selecting projects under ISO 6.3, the Monitoring Committee also addressed the update of Appendix 3 to the Interreg Programme and decided on possible funding scenarios related to the Operations of Strategic Importance (OSI).

As we enter this new phase of the Programme, we are committed to supporting these projects and ensuring their smooth implementation. We wish every success to the approved projects and look forward to the positive changes they will bring to the neighbouring Romanian and Hungarian communities.
