Significant progress was achieved during the 4th Monitoring Committee Meeting of the Interreg VI-A Romania-Hungary Programme, held online on December 16, 2024, as all 11 Operations of Strategic Importance (OSI) outlined in Appendix 3 of the Programme were approved for funding. This milestone emphasizes the Programme’s commitment to fostering cross-border cooperation and addressing key regional challenges.
With an ERDF budget of over €70.3 million, representing half of the Programme's total allocation, these projects aim to deliver transformative benefits to communities along the Romanian-Hungarian border. All approved projects are now moving into the contracting phase, with contracts expected to be signed by the end of this year. This ensures that implementation can begin promptly, bringing tangible benefits to the border communities without delay.
